MARCO CAVALLO IS BLUE!
FUTURE PROJECTS together with the "Alda Merini" Center - PSYCHE 'ASSOCIATION has created a project for the creation of the papier-mâché sculpture by MARCO CAVALLO. The project was born from an idea of Nunzio Favia (president of Future Projects) and the Psychè association. The papier-mâché makers of our association Pasquale Conoscitore and Raffaele Leone together with the boys from the center created the papier-mâché sculpture.
Marco Cavallo is the famous blue horse which was built by the mentally ill of the former psychiatric hospital of Trieste. When the law 180/78 was approved, the guests with the blue horse opened a breach in the walls of the asylum to leave the walls and re-enter the community, becoming free citizens from that moment. At the center Alda Merini users and volunteers together with the papier-mâché makers of our association have reproduced the blue horse that symbolizes freedom from mental illness.
Marco Cavallo is blue! "Is a social integration project between the associations" Progetti Futuri "and" Psyché "which was created to promote reintegration into the social context, the relationships between people who share the same passion for art and papier-mâché. The Psychè association has numerous active laboratories, including horticulture, tailoring and artistic laboratories for the recovery of social skills aimed at the recovery process in community welfare.

25th May 2016 On May 25th during the conference "Is there still a need for Marco Cavallo?" the sculpture of MARCO CAVALLO made by the papier-mâché masters was presented of our Future Projects association. The sculpture is located in the garden of the “Alda Merini” Day Center for psychosocial rehabilitation in Manfredonia.
